A page torn from my personal diary and random journaling that's been found, restored, or remembered about how my car became destroyed.

A few years ago, I was celebrating a victory of not having to walk to work, school, and the grocery store when I bought my new car. It took some time to gather some resources and recovering from all of the tows and repairs from my last vehicle, but I did it! It was the first time I ever bought a car on my own and in brand new condition.

Ever since I got it though, I've had problems with it. It took me awhile to figure it out, but my car was getting vandalized from a little bit to a whole lot. It would happen almost everywhere that I would go to whether it was running errands or going to work. When I would return back to my vehicle to add something to my trunk, I would find something moved around or stolen from me. In addition to this, I would see more scratches, dents, and more damage.

Last year, my car was stolen at least three different times in very distant locations. But thanks to God, I got my car back after awhile. It was between 3-4 weeks before I could get it back after attempting several times with multiple police departments to get it reported and issued into their database for it to be searchable. There was one time it took me without having access to a working phone, I spoke with a few Police Officers including security, but security mentioned that they could not do much about that. Another time, it took me asking at least six different times for at least five completely different Police Precincts including a Sheriff's County Officer for a report to be written. I did not remove myself from the vehicle while I was getting a ride to a location since I was without a vehicle until I had a report filled out.

In between these theft incidences, I've also experienced a car crash while living inside of my vehicle along with my two little dogs. While we were okay with minimum impact, the front side of my vehicle didn't look so good. The other good news from this was that it was still meeting law requirements in its condition and I could wait for repairs.

For vandalism, it's been hard to track since it was so frequent and I didn't drive my car every single day, that I had missed some incidences to report. Do know that it is reportable to your local Police Department or any other persons of Law Enforcement including State Patrol via over the phone, in-person, or online. Here is an example of where nearby locals can report:

After a year, the car is finally getting a makeover.

This is what the Chevrolet Malibu really looks like after removing the shell. There's a lot more damage that is visible due to vandalism and not the car accident.

While dealing with this, I have been going through a lot of issues, but I am still handling them efficiently. But I've now been without a vehicle for quite some time as it's been in the shop getting some repairs as there is a ton of damage and I've been stalled out on different roads putting me in much danger. Another major issue that fits in with the vehicle is not being able to afford auto insurance. When I did have it, I ended up having to discontinue its use after being upcharged an extra $150 - $200 a month on top of what I was already having to pay and that was not going to work out. Unfortunately, it's been very tough trying to find insurance especially with a vehicle that hasn't been operating well with minimal driving for about six months. Most insurance companies are now only accepting a 6-month contract with a large lump sum to paid up front. One company wants $1,604 and another wants $1,538. This makes things much more difficult to afford along with the surmount of expenses that I already have including tons of debt from medical expenses and credit cards while surviving.

Being that a lot of time has passed by while the car has been surviving also, I am still grateful to have been able to use it for an extended period of time in order to get to and from work. Hopefully, something major will occur in which the vandalizers of my vehicle get the consequences that they deserve so I can get at least a little bit of justice out of all of these scenarios.

This information was gathered from friends, family, and my life experiences combined.
