A Mexican-American Army soldier stationed in Ft. Hood, Texas went missing on April 22, 2020. Her remains were partially discovered months later at the end of June on the 30th and were identified on July 5th. Later in the investigation, it was revealed that a woman by the name of Cecily Aguilar, heard by Guillen made a threat to kill someone and happened to help dispose of her body along with her accused sexual abuser and murderer, Aaron Robinson, on the 22nd. Guillen made her family aware of her assault plenty of time beforehand, but she urged her mother to not do anything as she was worried about her safety. Guillen did not file a report as it was already rumored that other women filed reports against the same man and they were dismissed. She did not trust the system to keep her case going to retrieve justice not just for those reasons, but also because she was sexually harassed from other men higher up in the chain of command.
While taking a shower, Robinson followed her, sat down near her, and watched her for some time. Assault by a hammer happened shortly after that with nobody to report seeing any of it. After her death, she was dragged, burned, and chopped up into pieces with a machete. Her body was buried on the base, but further away from the crime scene. His girlfriend, Aguilar, assisted with burning and ridding of the body. When Robinson found out he was going to be turned in, he committed suicide to avoid punishment and Aguilar has been imprisoned in Bell County Jail.
The FBI & DOJ are working alongside local law enforcement on investigating the chain of command at Ft. Hood.
Guillen enlisted into the military after graduating at 18-years-old from high school. Her mother mentioned that she has always wanted to be in the military since she was a child as she would play with her brother's toy gun. She grew up in Houston and was one of five siblings to their mother Gloria Guillen.
Rest in Peace
