26-year-old African American woman was an Emergency Medical Technician when she was shot by a gun held by a policeman in her own home after waking up in the middle of the night to them barging into the wrong address in Louisville, Kentucky.
Police officers were looking for a man who was arrested earlier that day and were at the wrong location. They were on their premises in an attempt to follow a "No Knock Warrant" and were wearing plain clothes and not in uniform. They arrived to her home around midnight when she and her boyfriend were sleeping. After a short exchange of words, Breonna was killed in her home while the exchange of words is still a bit mysterious. The cops in her case have yet to be charged and imprisoned for being trigger happy in that moment. What would've happened if they were in uniform and announced themselves? Neighbors mentioned that they did not hear them make an announcement. What would've happened if more words were exchanged to prevent gunfire from occurring?
Rest in Peace
Breonna
