There are sex offenders that have an identity crisis especially when it comes to gender. With the new classifications that have been getting debated over and still considered controversial in many areas around the country, there are still some people having trouble identifying with their new change. Those who rape multiple genders are no longer considered binary. It is instead called non-binary for the attraction is no longer to the opposite sex. This can be common for serial sex offenders with multiple targets. The growing sexual trend of orgies, sex parties, and harems is leading the numbers of nonconsensual encounters to increase. Another major contributor is the infestation of pornography littering the surface web and lurking "underground" on the dark web. On the other hand, this presents issues for a victim of sexual assault because it can cause confusion. Even if it’s not a choice, the fact that penetration occurred with the same sex or even with molestation brings the invasion to a whole other level of unknown. There isn’t much that is explained in other areas about this. I’ve been through this experience and it’s extremely invasive. There is no going around it and avoiding it. The issue must be dealt with immediately or at a time when you or your loved one is ready. The same scenario can occur with incest rape. Incest means that a family member performed the sex crime and is not restricted by gender or gender preference from the sex offender side. Having this horrific experience does not change your gender. It is only the choice of the sex offender, therefore it is a change in their gender or sexual preference for the type of person that was chosen to be their victim. Going through this experience can be traumatic, but does not mean that it is always having this critical effect nor does it mean that it’s not important if emotional reaction is delayed. It can still have lasting negative impact or come back later on in another way instead of the traditionally suggested mental disorder. But that’s for another day as that is a very lengthy topic to get into at the moment.
The point is that if you are a victim, you can still call yourself heterosexual aka “straight” if that is how you identify as. If not, then that is okay too when you admit that you are homosexual aka gay or whatever letter/initial you identify as. That is perfectly fine. But when the sex offender is imposing their sexual identity or preference upon you, this does not mean that they have the power to change you.
If you're experiencing the same, here are some reminders to take with you:
