The disrespect is real. It can happen directly and indirectly, but most of the time it occurs indirectly even though it can be in-person. This has been occurring to me during the hours that I'm working a job in a supermarket. You know what that means?! More people to interact with.
There are some people who walk up to me just to make a passive aggressive comment about my job description or position as if it is something new. Then there are some people who walk up to me while making a donation stating comments that go against what the bad people have said to me. This is comforting to hear positivity here and there, but why bother dealing with the nasty insults in the first place. It is like a game to them.
There are some genuine interactions only when I initiate them. I even counted the number of people who just say, “Hello,” to me. There are people making insults to justify the very little number of polite people that this turns out to be. In 30 minutes, only 3 people said, “Hi,” to me because they actually wanted to. Does this mean that it is my fault or has anything to do with my character, No.

Whenever I hear these things, I think of the expression that I grew up with, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words may never hurt me." The above insults are not true. They are only meant to insult me and never help me. It is despicable to encounter these sorts of interactions from people daily, but it does not mean that I cannot stand up for myself.
The passive aggressive comments can be tough to deal with since they like to talk while looking up in the air or finish speaking as they walk away from me. The good news is that is isn't impossible to deal with and I'm becoming more and more successful each day in fighting back against all of them.
These people are really threatening my life and have been extremely abusive with sexual violence to accompany their harsh words. There's been much practice that I've had handling these kinds of people so there's been so much more progression in making my surroundings positive.
I am a Human Trafficking victim that is known by a lot of people because they have abused me in at least one way recently, especially sexually assault. They have made it into a sport for their own entertainment. This has created an awkward situation for me when it comes to social interactions because of people trying to keep this secret and only amongst themselves. I refuse to back down and am still trying to survive daily. Each day presents a challenge that affects my health severely. No matter what happens, I keep trying to breathe and fight back as much as I can do I can stay alive.
