DBD Survivor Tip 2021: How to Avoid One of the Dreaded End of Game 3-Gen

Just like watching a horror movie for the jump scares, spooky video games can be just as thrilling. Dead by Daylight is a fun multiplayer horror game that has been out for 6 years and is most enjoyable to play. It has a Killer objective to hang Survivors on hooks and a Survivor objective to evade the Killer while repairing generators together to open a gate to escape. Being a sneaky Survivor who can avoid the Killer while remaining a productive team player can be challenging enough. You can even be that player who wants to maximize on obtaining the most bloodpoints as possible. The 4 Survivors vs 1 Killer match can be going smoothly, exactly how you want it to where you get that first generator done at the beginning couple of minutes, escape a small chase, and manage to save a teammate off of a hook. Oh, the many points that keep accumulating to rank up!

Then...you find out The Clown Killer happens to be gen-patrolling throwing bottles of his Afterpiece Tonic. You notice that there are puffs of toxic purple clouds fogging around two of the three generators left in the game to work on. All three generators are in close proximity of each other allowing the Killer to easily watch them. In case you didn’t know, the smoke makes you scream while revealing your position to The Clown.

What to do now?

The odds of your character leaving the match without a scratch at this point are slim, but still possible. Your choice at this point is to go toe to toe with The Clown and see how far you can loop him. Or...try to time the gas when it dissipates and work at one of the generators with a convenient hiding spot going back and forth between locations. This can be a nearby boulder or on the outside of the surrounding wall barrier. Whatever it is, stay observant, be quick, and try not to miss those skill check pop-ups. The Clown will return shortly or whichever brutal slayer is hunting you down and is ready to slash you.

Or in this case, you can try to hide behind one of the haystacks.

Bonus Strategic Picks:

A little this, a little that can do the trick. Here are some tips on what types of perks and/or items to help get your survivor out of this mucky situation successfully.

Perk - Open to Anyone on the Bloodweb - Spine Chill

As the Killer looks your way, the Spine Chill Perk will light up at the bottom right of your screen. This will give you a speed boost while repairing the generator. When the Killer stops looking in your direction, the cat will no longer be lit up. Keep this in mind while trying to figure out the timing it takes to run away. If you're smart about it, a headstart can be gained by this notification signaling to get off of the generator when the Killer is coming your way to get back to your hiding spot.

Item - Open to Anyone on the Bloodweb - Toolbox

Toolboxes speed up the repairing process. Sometimes waiting for the right moment works out best than immediately using it. If you don’t have one on hand, take a quick hike to find a chest around to see if there’s one in there.

Item - Open to Anyone on the Bloodweb - First Aid Kit

Make sure to heal up instead of staying wounded if you happen to have a first aid kit on hand or find any type in a chest.

Perk - Nancy Wheeler - Inner Strength

If you’re wounded, hurry and find a totem and get to that locker! Stay in there until the line on the Inner Strength perk stops turning clockwise. Then healing is complete. Time is of the essence.

Perk - Claudette Morel - Self-Care

Another healing option without having to search for items. Self-Care lets you heal yourself anywhere on the map.

Perk - Nea Karlsson - Urban Evasion

Urban Evasion makes it harder for the Killer to see you. Attempt to get much bolder and slightly stealthier holding down that shift button down to sneak back and forth while staying low to the ground undetected.

Perk - Meg Thomas - Sprint Burst

Save Sprint Burst for when you have to run away. The reason is when spotted you’re not stuck with the exhaustion debuff at the most critical time for you to make use of it.

Perk - Open to Anyone on the Bloodweb - Plunderer’s Instinct

Plunderer’s Instinct helps you find available unopened chests in case you need them with a pink highlight around the map. You cannot miss them.

Oh, and do be careful not to get hooked!

There are many more options out there for you to choose from that can mesh well with anyone’s playstyle. Go ahead and leave a comment below to let us know which of these worked out for you in this tricky situation.

Happy Gaming!
