Right now, it is a weird weather transition time with mother nature sending us a message that reflects our behavior toward the planet. Climate change is very much alive and exposing itself in various forms. It was necessary to take a quick moment to examine the changes throughout the day and realize that we're still in Winter even though the calendar tells us that we're in Spring. This works for me as I love the last and first season of the year. It's the only one that ends up making an impact on two years at a time. While many people dread it, I think it's important to recognize its beauty and appreciate the changes in our surroundings. There are so many reasons to love this time of year and I'll share with you some of mine.

There's something alluring when there's an overcast of whites and grays clashing into larger artistic moldings of wondrous shapes. It's even better when there are chunky white clusters falling from that background decorating all the green, gray, and black. The trees expand their wardrobe for their annual powdery textured costumes. Large mammals get to take a long-lasting nap while the birds are still singing about. The dogs shake and make mini snowballs in their long fur which leaves a good excuse to not use the car.
What isn't there to love about this season of the year? It's the brightest time of night without sunshine as the moonlight reflects the elevated layers. Ground prints are still visible, and blankets are a necessary wraparound. The smell of smoked oak lingers with a fog. Warmth in the cold is comfort.
I love winter and all its glory!
And you should too.
